I love my best friends. They know who they are. Always they reorient me and remind me of who I am. Amidst the noise and confusion of life, they remind me to listen to my own voice.
They seldom give me the answers to life’s pressing questions, but they help me arrive at what I know to be the right answer.
But they don’t judge me when I get things wrong.
They are there to laugh with me, they are there to cry with me. They are bright, curious, creative, and fully engaged with life.
My best friends are, at heart, deeply spiritual people. This has nothing to do with their religious beliefs, or whether or not they even subscribe to an organized religion. But always they are searching for a sort of spiritual purification, whether it’s through a creative outlet, through their relationships with other people, through motherhood, or through the daily motions of every day life.
They ponder the meaning of their words and actions, aware of it’s impact on the world. They are wake to a higher meaning in everything. They are in touch with a higher self within themselves. They maintain their inner lives carefully, aware of how it affects the outer world.
They love others with honesty and dedication. They value their relationships. They try to live the truth at all times.
Soulmates are those people that you need to reconnect with every once in a while to remember who you are. It doesn’t matter how much time has elapsed since the last time you saw each other because you are on parallel paths.
I have in my life beautiful souls that I truly admire.
